Rowledge Residents Association
A Residents Association is usually set up for the following reasons:
- To campaign for something positive, e.g. a better play area
- To campaign against something that would impair the environment
- To campaign for improved services or infrastructure
- To give your community a greater voice than you would have as an individual
- To promote a sense of community in your area
- To keep residents informed of what’s happening in your neighbourhood
Via our email list, the committee endeavours to act as a central information hub to inform villagers and village community groups (including sports clubs) about what’s happening in and around the village.
The Rowledge RA committee takes a neutral stance on issues which might divide opinion in the village. As regards planning issues, the number of objections and approvals has more weight in the decision-making process than a single missive from a residents’ association. We will provide any villager with information on how they can comment to the relevant authority.
We will take a stance on matters that might affect the village as a whole such as large developments, electoral boundary changes or road safety.
The committee strives to be representative of all age and amenity groups in the village.
